Feed Transfer Sensor
Automatic systems used in poultry houses to help birds grow and breed have various equipment. One of these equipment and accessories that should be used in an automatic device for transferring poultry feed and food is the feed transfer sensor. Feeder sensors are usually installed at the end of poultry feed lines. In various sectors of the industry, capacitive sensors are a suitable alternative to limit switches and microswitches to control the level or position of various objects and materials. Among these, the one we will discuss more in this article is the capacitive feeder sensor.
Poultry Feeder Sensor
One of these uses of capacitive sensors is in poultry houses and feeding systems. Capacitive sensors are widely used in hopper feeder systems, plate feeders, feed lines and feed transfer stations, in such a way that as soon as the feed approaches the sensor, it cuts or connects the circuit depending on the type of sensor purchased. In poultry and feeding systems, a 30mm diameter two-wire capacitive sensor with 220 V.AC power supply and NC is usually used. In this way, after the sensor encounters or approaches the feed (distance 8 to 20 mm depending on the type of sensor), it gives the command to turn off the motor and the feed entry stops, preventing feed overflow.
The advantage of having sensors in automatic feed transfer devices
The presence of sensors in systems that deliver feed and food is very important. These sensors are used to cut off the power and stop the motor. The use of a poultry feed sensor is when the feed has been transferred throughout the entire hall and now it is time for the last plate and the device must stop and complete the feed delivery.
The main reason why it is important to have a feed sensor in poultry halls is that you can easily deliver the desired amount of food to the birds at a certain time and stop doing this whenever there is no need to distribute feed in the hall. Another advantage of these sensors is that it is possible to set a time delay from 10 seconds to 2 hours, which is one of the most important and notable features of these feed transfer system sensors.
